Our team at Advanced Veterinary Medical Center in El Sobrante is pleased to offer urgent and routine pet care services for your dog or cat. Exams and vaccinations, dental care, sterilization, and getting pet surgery when your dog or cat needs it are all critical components of longevity.

Services Offered by Our Animal Hospital

Below are brief descriptions of just some of the types of pet care that we offer at our veterinary practice.

Dental Care

Poor oral hygiene can affect your pet’s overall health. One example is periodontal disease, also known as gum disease. If the problem becomes severe, it can have a negative impact on your dog or cat’s heart, liver, and/or kidneys.

We encourage you to schedule a dental cleaning at least once a year and to look for symptoms such as bleeding or swelling of the gums, chronic bad breath, and obvious discomfort when eating. These issues could indicate a significant oral health problem.

Microchipping

Sadly, it only takes seconds for your pet to slip out the door and potentially remain lost indefinitely. Collars can slip off or become caught on something, presenting a choking hazard. A microchip, which contains your pet’s name and your contact information, is the size of a grain of rice that our veterinarian inserts near their shoulder blade.

Pet Surgery

When your pet needs surgery, you can depend on our team to ensure they are comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. Your pet’s veterinarian will discuss the benefits and risks and obtain your approval before going ahead with the procedure.

Spaying and Neutering

Female dogs and cats can give birth to multiple litters in their lifetime, and most of their offspring never find loving homes. The best thing you can do for pet overpopulation and to improve your own pet’s health is to arrange spay or neuter surgery.

Wellness Exams

Healthy adult dogs and cats should visit us annually between the ages of one and seven, while puppies, kittens, and middle-aged and senior pets need to see us more often. The wellness exam gives you the opportunity to discuss health and behavioral concerns with our veterinarian so you can take the best possible care of your furry friend. We also provide your pet’s vaccinations at this exam according to the schedule recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
